BLOG 4: PHOTOS AND FEATURE ARTICLE

            In the past week in class I have been focusing on creating my feature article. As of writing this blog post I have two paragraphs worth of work completed and have left spaces open for interview quotes. I have also begun entering various title into my magazine in InDesign and have been experimenting with various colors. I have also been researching information on the Photoshop program and how I will be able to incorporate edited photos from that program into InDesign. The feature article will be able to fill the page perfectly through resizing and perfecting the font, I am also continuing to write and add on more information to the feature article to make sure that it is the best that it can be. I will go to my local thrift store (Goodwill) in order to acquire photos of older items, I understand that I may be unable to take all of the photographs that I want, but I will do my best and attempt to fill the magazine with content.

Post Production 2: Focus of Your Editing                The final page of my magazine was liked by the class, but definitely required some separation of text due too the unique design of the page itself. I had added black lines to the final page to make it more clear to readers which text belongs to which picture, I have also resized the font on the page to make it easier to read. While making some further observations of my magazine I have also slightly touched up the front page once more by covering up any photoshop artifacts that made the cover page photo look bad or too unprofessional. While I have done all that I believe is necessary to make my magazine a decent product, I am still disappointed that I was unable to find the phone that I wanted to replace the cover page photo. I have done the most with what I had and believe I have created a good product.

Magazine Cover Review

  MAGAZINE COVER REVIEW:             The magazines that had been shown in the interactive lecture during this latest week in class were normally passed during most of my life. I had never put much thought in to how much detail and symbolism goes in to making a magazine attractive to the eye and the mind. When magazines are positioned at the checkout lines in supermarkets, I would usually think about who was still reading magazines when the internet is so easily available. With the knowledge I know now however, it is obvious to see appreciation and enjoyment some individuals get from magazines.             Perhaps my stigma about magazines did derive from a belief that people would not be able to pay attention enough to a magazine to read an article all the way through. Final Draft: Retro Review - The Return of The King?

  I have worked to create this final product upon which you now have the pleasure of viewing. Countless hours of software creativity and experimentation have resulted in what now appears before you. From the elaborate cover page to the ingenious main article, allow yourself to be transported to the past which you may or may not have experienced for yourself, and hope to relive or experience that which has so clearly been passionately recreated. May you who reads this message, and anyone else who decides to bestow themselves upon the fruits of my labor find my work as wonderous and phenomenal as I have through my own countless readings and corrections.
